Significantly Stronger Empathy (2010) is consisted of two parts, Burning and Still Burning . The first part is a video footage of burning five layers of fire-shaped wooden sculpture. The second part is a motor driven kinetic sculpture using the burnt object from the previous. A wooden cam rod located at the bottom of the sculpture is attached to the motor, which runs at very low speed, 3.5 rpm. As the cam rod rotates, the layers of burnt wood move individually. However, since the movement is very small and slow, it is hard to be noticed by audiences without a proper observation.
